Lara Turtle Beach
Beaches & Sea
Nestled along the rugged coastline of the Akamas Peninsula in Cyprus, Lara Beach is a sanctuary for endangered green and loggerhead sea turtles.
From May to August, female turtles come ashore at night to lay their eggs in the warm sand. Hatchlings emerge 50–70 days later for their journey to the sea.
The beach has been recognised as one of Europe's top 40 beaches, with unspoilt sands and turquoise waters surrounded by pristine natural landscape.
