Art That Belongs
to This Place

Every piece in our collection is chosen to reflect the culture, landscape, and craft traditions of Cyprus. These are not decorations — they are conversations between ancient technique and contemporary vision, placed where guests can live alongside them.

Nema Wall Piece

Handwoven Artwork with Fytiotiko Embroidery

This artwork is woven using Fytiotiko embroidery, a traditional Cypriot textile technique originating from the village of Fyti in the Pafos region. Characterised by its geometric motifs and intricate pattern structures, Fytiotiko has been practiced for generations and forms an important part of Cyprus' textile heritage. The technique is included in the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Cyprus, maintained with the Cyprus National Commission for UNESCO.

For this piece, the traditional technique is reinterpreted through a contemporary woven composition designed specifically for Nema Restaurant. The motif draws inspiration from the restaurant's details and Mediterranean atmosphere.

Woven in olive, brown and blue tones, the work reflects the landscape of Cyprus — earth, nature and sea — bringing traditional craftsmanship into a contemporary architectural setting.

Intangible Heritage

Fytiotiko Embroidery

Fytiotiko is a traditional Cypriot textile technique originating from the village of Fyti in the Pafos region. Characterised by geometric motifs and intricate pattern structures, it has been practiced for generations and is included in the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Cyprus, maintained with the Cyprus National Commission for UNESCO.

By commissioning contemporary works rooted in this tradition, we help ensure that these techniques continue to live — not behind glass, but in the spaces where people gather.
