At the Birthplace
of Love
Paphos is the mythical home of Aphrodite, Goddess of Love — and one of the most sought-after wedding destinations in the world.
The Setting
Where Love Stories
Begin
Paphos is famed as the Birthplace of Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love and Beauty — and so it has become one of the most popular wedding locations in the world. More than 2,000 couples choose to marry here every year, drawn by a Mediterranean climate that allows year-round ceremonies and marriage certificates recognised internationally.

01 — The Venues
From Castles to Coastline
Couples have the choice of a variety of stunning and unique wedding and reception venues. Hotel gardens overlooking the sea. Beach ceremonies at sunset. Historic castles and private chapels. Traditional village settings with stone courtyards. Five-star resorts and renovated boutique hotels — each offering a different way to say the words that matter most.

02 — Your Day
Every Detail, Arranged
Dedicated wedding coordinators handle every element — ceremony, reception, flowers, music, photographer, and honeymoon suite. Choose between civil ceremonies at the municipality office or approved venues, or religious ceremonies in one of the island's beautiful churches. Notice of marriage is required in advance, and your coordinator will guide you through every step.

03 — For Your Guests
More Than a Wedding, a Holiday
Golden beaches, jeep safaris through the Akamas Peninsula, archaeological sites dating back millennia. Wine routes winding through hillside villages, seaside tavernas, boat trips along the coast. Spa treatments for the bridal party. Golf, nature trails, water sports — your guests won't just attend a wedding, they'll have the holiday of a lifetime.
The Essentials
What You Need
to Know
Marriage Licence
A marriage licence is required for all ceremonies in Cyprus. Apply through the local municipality office — your wedding coordinator can handle the paperwork on your behalf.
Documents
Prepare your documents at least six weeks before the ceremony. You will need valid passports, birth certificates, and any additional paperwork depending on your nationality and ceremony type.
Notice of Marriage
Notice of marriage must be published in advance. The required period varies depending on whether you choose a civil or religious ceremony — your coordinator will advise on exact timings.
Witnesses
A minimum of two witnesses are required for the ceremony to be legally recognised. If your guests have not yet arrived or you are eloping, witnesses can be arranged locally.
Legal Age & Recognition
The legal age for marriage in Cyprus is 18. Marriages performed here are recognised internationally, so your certificate is valid when you return home.
Ceremony Types
Civil ceremonies can take place at the municipality office or any approved venue — gardens, beaches, hotels. Religious ceremonies are held in churches across the Paphos district.
The Experience
Beyond the
Ceremony
A Paphos wedding is more than the ceremony itself. The days before and after are filled with experiences that turn a destination wedding into something your guests will talk about for years.
