The Destination

Four Golf Courses,
One Coastline

Paphos is the golfing epicentre of Cyprus and the latest destination on the international golfing map, where you can play the game all year round. But it doesn't stop at the fairway — the region has become a haven for professional cycling camps, marathon runners, triathletes, and anyone drawn to open water and warm winters.

Four Courses, Year-Round Play

Four top-class courses set amid peaceful surroundings, landscaped hills, and spectacular views. Aphrodite Hills, designed by Cabell Robinson, is an award-winning PGA National Cyprus championship course. Elea Estate, designed by Sir Nick Faldo, opened in 2010 to immediate acclaim. Minthis is GEO Certified for environmental sustainability — the first in Cyprus to achieve the distinction. Secret Valley sits amid natural beauty away from the hustle and bustle.

02 — Training Paradise

Cycling, Running & Triathlon

Sunny winter days averaging 18°C make Paphos the ideal training base for European athletes. Perfect roads, steep mountain climbs, and flat coastal routes draw professional cycling camps every season. Runners train year-round, from coastal paths to mountain trails — the Logicom Cyprus Marathon has been held since 1999 and is now in its 27th edition. Triathletes combine it all: Olympic-size heated pools, open water swimming in crystal-clear Mediterranean, and cycling routes that never see ice.

The Advantage

Why Paphos
for Training

Paphos has quietly become one of Europe's most practical sporting bases. The combination of climate, facilities, and access makes it difficult to justify training anywhere else in winter.

Climate

326 sunny days

Average 18°C in winter with 326 days of sunshine per year. Consistent conditions that allow uninterrupted outdoor training from October through April and beyond.

Facilities

World-class

Championship golf courses designed by Cabell Robinson and Sir Nick Faldo. Olympic-size heated pools. Professional training pitches used by European football clubs. Everything an athlete requires.

Access

Direct flights

Paphos International Airport receives direct flights from major European cities. From touchdown to training in under an hour — minimal travel disruption to any programme.

Sustainability

GEO Certified

Minthis Golf Club holds GEO Certification for environmental sustainability — the first in Cyprus to achieve this. Water management, habitat conservation, and community engagement are central to Paphos sporting tourism.
